FAQ

Where does my vehicle come from?

Our primary goal is to find the car you need at the most competitive price.  Given the current exchange rate, almost all of our vehicles are sourced from the United States.

Do I pay taxes on my vehicle?

You will not have to pay Canadian or American taxes. The price we quote is the price you pay.  Once you receive your vehicle however, you will be responsible for the duties and taxes in your country.  Please check your local laws and regulations.

How do I pay for my vehicle?

Wire transfers are the most efficient method of payment.  Our invoice includes instructions on how to transfer the funds.  As most of our cars are sourced from the US, we generally require payment in US dollars.  Should you need to pay with a different currency, please let us know…as we need to lock in your rate with the bank.

Do you require a deposit?

In most situations, Techlantic does not request a deposit.  Should you require something unusual however, like a car that is typically not in high demand or a vehicle with highly personalized options, we may require a deposit before placing the order.  The balance of the payment is then required once the vehicle is in the possession of the Shipping Line.

How will my vehicle be delivered to me?

Techlantic vehicles are delivered either by RoRo carrier (roll on/roll off) or container vessel.  Please advise us of your shipping preference, as well as your destination port, and we will make every effort to accommodate you.  At your request, we can insure your vehicle during transport for an additional fee.

Can I track my shipments?

For vehicles shipped via RoRo, please click here to access the website of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.  Click on ‘Auto Cargo’.  Enter the full Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in the ‘Cargo ID’ box and click on ‘Track’.

Is there warranty on my vehicle?

No.  The factory warranty becomes void when your vehicle leaves North America.  We advise all of our customers to arrange a local aftermarket warranty.

Does Techlantic handle homologation?

As the requirements for homologation (bringing your vehicle into compliance with local standards) varies not only by country but often by local government office, Techlantic cannot provide this service.  However, we can introduce you to a local company that handles this area of expertise.

Does Techlantic sell used cars?

Yes.  Due to the decrease in the value of the US dollar, we are selectively sourcing late-model used vehicles.  Please contact us for additional information.
